In the 1970s, Lee began to investigate other martial arts and Eastern practices that might help him understand both fighting and himself. His studies eventually led him to Japan, where he learned about Zen Buddhism and the three main energy centers of the body known as chakras in Sanskrit. Repeat this breathing and sighing pattern at least 20 times, and it will help you to activate your third-eye chakra.


Channeling Energy Through Manipura Chakra

The third-eye chakra is located between the eyebrows and can be activated by concentrating on that spot and trying to visualize light coming out of it. Once the third-eye chakra is activated, you will feel a sensation of light in your head and maybe even a tingling sensation around your eyes. If you can achieve this sense of light, you can then use this energy to your advantage in combat. To channel energy through the manipura chakra, have your opponent attack you. As he strikes, visualize yourself absorbing the energy from his blows like a sponge and then shooting it back at him as a powerful blast of light. Manipura chakra is the chakra of transformation, so it is fitting to use energy from your opponent to transform it into your own power.


How to Achieve This for Yourself

As with any chakra, it is important to meditate while focusing on the manipura chakra. Similarly, pranayama breathing is ideal for activating this center.
